Ways Of Detecting The Early Stages Of Breast Cancer

AÄŸustos 9th, 2008 by honeypotblog

As many doctors will tell you where most diseases or health issues are concerned, the methods for fighting them is by prevention, being aware and early detection. Therefore if are aware that there is a history in your family of heart problems and cancer then you an advantage over others. Because you know of the risks involved concerning the family history of the disease or health issue involved you can educate yourself on having a healthier lifestyle and what factors in the environment could be contributing to you becoming a higher risk. Certainly with the issue regarding breast cancer this is no different, in fact awareness and knowledge are the strongest you will have in not only detecting the disease early but also beating it.

If you were able to detect breast cancer early enough, you will find that it can often be treated more effectively. In fact the five year survival rate for women who are treated for the early stages of breast cancer is an astounding 96%.

However in its early stage breast cancer does not usually cause the patient any pain and this is why it can be easy for us to recognize it. In fact when breast cancer is in the first developmental stages there are often no symptoms which make it easily identifiable, and it is only as the cancer grows that the changes will begin which should be watch for and be aware of.

So how do you go about detecting the signs and symptoms (changes):-

One of the first signs you may notice is a new or persistent lump or a thickening in or near the breast or possibly in the underarm area.

The size or shape of your breast may change over time.

You will discover that there is discharge from either of the nipples that had not occurred before.

There will be a change in colour or feel of your breast, areola or nipples, which may consist of dimpling, puckering or a scaliness of the skin.

By carrying out regular self breast examination you should be able to detect any one of this signs or symptoms and if you find something that you feel is abnormal then arrange an appointment to see your doctor. There is nothing wrong in being cautious where this disease is concerned. Just remember that most abnormalities that you find are not cancerous and are more likely to be cysts or a growth of fatty tissue and this can be quickly and painlessly dealt with. I’m sure that not only your doctor but you and your family will be pleased that you are erring on the side of caution, rather than ignoring something that can become more serious later on.

Hedges said Sunday he has discovered the globe's tiniest species of snake in the easternmost Caribbean island of Barbados, with full-grown adults typically less than four inches (10 centimeters) long. Hair Removal: The Epilator

AÄŸustos 9th, 2008 by honeypotblog

The Epilator: Quick and Easy Long-Term Hair Removal
Information and Tips for the Pioneering Epilator User

A lesser-known form of hair removal that is quickly growing in popularity is the epilator. The epilator is a small electronic devise (about the size of an electric razor) that functions in the same way as tweezers. You can use it anywhere on your body where you have unwanted hair - from bikini line to back and legs.

The epilator works when the user rolls the devise across the surface of the skin where the unwanted hair is growing. Inside of the body of the epilator are “pinching” devises that basically pinch anything that they come into contact with, including even the smallest hairs. After the hair is pinched, the devise continues to roll across the skin, pulling the hair out as it moves.

Because the epilator pulls the hair out at the root, the hair will not return to the surface of the skin for several days up to several weeks, leaving the skin smooth and silky. Unlike shaving, which only removes the part of the hair follicle from the skin’s surface, the epilator acts as a long-term solution to getting rid of unwanted hair. Therefore, the epilator is recommended for individuals that frequently get “five o’clock shadows”, or stubble by the end of the day after shaving.

The epilator is an electronic devise and can, therefore, be difficult to master at first. Here are some tips to help you use your epilator like a pro:

1. Always use your epilator after a hot shower or bath. The hot water will help to expand the pores and relax the hair root, making the hair easier and less painful to remove. Keep in mind that the epilator is an electronic devise and should not be used in or near water.

2. Pull the skin taught, tightening any excess skin by holding it down. As the epilator rolls across your skin, it will pinch and pull anything in its path - including loose skin.

3. Start slowly. You will be able to feel the epilator latch onto your hair follicles. The slower you work, the more thorough the hair removal job will be.

4. Move in the direction of the hair growth. Unlike shaving, which requires that you go against the grain of the hair, the epilator makes it quick and easy to go with the grain of the hair. When the hair is pulled out with an epilator, you will tend to not get the red bumps that you might otherwise get with a razor.

5. Your skin may be sensitive after you use the epilator. You may use a mineral oil to soother your skin. It is not advised that you use lotion, however, as the chemical agents in lotion can lead to rashes and skin irritations.

6. After your hair removal session, wipe your epilator clean so that hair does not clog the machinery.

Many people find that once they start using the epilator, they don’t want to go back to traditional shaving or waxing. Indeed, the epilator is quicker and longer lasting than shaving, yet without the painful side-effects that often accompany waxing. If you haven’t given it a try yet, there’s no better time; you have nothing to lose but unwanted hair!

Long Live Halloween!

AÄŸustos 9th, 2008 by honeypotblog

The scent of fall is in the air and the colors of the season are gracing our landscapes. Know what that means? Halloween is right around the corner! Children everywhere are counting the weeks until this festive day arrives while parents wonder if their children should be allowed to trick or treat and whether today’s world is safe enough for the Halloween traditions of days gone by.

Well I say LONG LIVE HALLOWEEN! How can we deny our children the only day of the year when they are allowed to run up and down the street begging neighbors for candy? How can we deny them the pleasure of dressing up as superheroes and princesses and gallivanting around a neighborhood that’s been transformed into a one-night fantasy land?

While I believe Halloween should be enjoyed, I do believe we should take some safety measures to ensure our children have a safe Halloween in addition to having a fun one.

A Watchful Eye.

If you have young children who will be trick-or-treating this year, you need to realize that we live in a changing society. You need to keep a very close eye on your children and that means following along (even if from a few feet behind) as your children go door to door on their trick-or-treating mission.

Setting Ground Rules.

Halloween isn’t the time for a free-for-all. You need to set some ground rules. Let your children know what’s acceptable, what’s not, and what you expect from them in regard to their behavior. If the rules are laid out up front, there will be less confusion and, hopefully, less frustration all around.

Bright Clothing or Reflectors.

It can seem like kids are swarming through the neighborhoods on Halloween night. Drivers need to be especially careful, but not all are as careful as they should be. Because of this, you need to take extra precautions. Don’t let your children cross the street without you and when you do cross the street, make sure you have reflective clothing or a glow-in-the-dark nightstick with you.

Candy Checks.

As sad as it may be, you do need to check your child’s candy after they bring in the haul. Look for anything out of the ordinary. Throw away any unwrapped items, items with wrappers that look as if they’ve been tampered with, etc. And take care that not too much of the good stuff is eaten all in one sitting!

So is Halloween a dying holiday? Absolutely not! You just need to take the time to lay out ground rules and practice proper safety, and Halloween can be as much fun this year as it was when you were a kid! Watch out for those ghosts and goblins!

Game Tables Very, Very Popular Gifts

AÄŸustos 9th, 2008 by honeypotblog

It has happened to each and every one of us at some time or other and it is very difficult to conceal the disappointment. You know what I am talking about-the lousy gift. There really is only one thing that is worse than receiving a horrible gift and that is actually giving one to someone we love and care about. Frankly, you may not believe that furniture could ever be considered as a great gift for someone (especially a MAN!!) but premium game tables are highly treasured possessions that will be received with gratitude and cherished for years to come.

Perhaps it is the recent surge in popularity of poker thanks to the television shows highlighting the popular game but for some reason-quality game tables are also enjoying a tremendous increase in interest. And truthfully, many of these superb tables are not even designed or intended to play cards upon. Still, there has been an undeniable increase in people surfing the net and looking for the best online shopping opportunities for these popular and treasured game tables.

One of the most common and popular types of game tables that people love to receive are those designed for chess/checkers. Often featuring premium tops made from oak and perhaps a marble inlay that features all the squares for chess play, these premium game tables make the perfect gift for that refined father who loves to stretch his mind playing one of the oldest and most challenging games ever created.

Some of the most interesting and coveted game tables are made with benches. The interesting and very useful thing about this type of table is that the benches fit snugly underneath the tabletop when not in use. Many tables also feature drawers and pull-outs where players can store game pieces and thus keep everything in one convenient place.

In all honesty, premium game tables make excellent gifts even for people who hate chess, never played cards, and simply cannot be bothered with any sort of gaming. Basically, they are just gorgeous pieces of furniture in their own right and make perfect decorative elements in any den, office, or even a….game room?? However, for that hard-to-please father, husband, or son who just loves the thrill of competition, a great game table will be a gift that is sure to please. There will be no worries about disappointment when you give a premium card table to the one you love!

How to Compare Mortgage Deals from Different UK Lenders

AÄŸustos 9th, 2008 by honeypotblog

Before you start shopping around for a mortgage in the UK, it’s important to understand how mortgages are regulated and sold. There are some things you need to know and consider before you can go out looking for a mortgage.

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) requires lenders to show you a special document called keyfacts. Make sure you read the keyfacts before getting a mortgage or choosing a financial advisor. The keyfacts will help you see the features of the mortgage product, how much it will cost you and also help you understand what service you are being offered. You’ll also be able to use this document to compare mortgage products or services from different lenders.

Also, check that the firm you are dealing with is authorised by the FSA. If they are not authorised you will not have access to complaints procedures and compensation schemes if things go wrong.

Some of the things you should consider when choosing a mortgage lender includes:

- Competitiveness of the lender’s rates,
- Mortgage fees and penalties,
- Customer service and the lender’s reputation.
- Trust (You’ll want a lender you can trust, and a company you can work with effectively since you’ll have to deal with this lender for many years to come.)

Ask your friends or family for recommendations of potential mortgage lenders or brokers. Then contact some of the lenders and discuss your needs with them. Using keyfacts to compare different mortgage packages and services will help you get a better deal. Read expert opinions in national newspapers and magazines. These publications usually publish editorials that rate mortgage and loan deals from various banks and lenders. This information will give you a better idea of what to expect when you start shopping around for a mortgage.

Take time to choose a lender so that you can save money on your mortgage. There are hundreds of mortgage deals available out there so don’t be tempted to settle for the first offer before finding out what deals are available elsewhere. Shopping around for a mortgage will help you to get the best financing deal. If you don’t have the time to do it yourself, you can use the services of a broker or use an internet site that offers a mortgage comparison facility.

Finally, think carefully before securing other debts against your home. Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage.

Dog Breeds and You

AÄŸustos 9th, 2008 by honeypotblog

How to choose the right breed of dog for you and your family

The importance of choosing the most suitable type of dog breed for your personal circumstances, preferences and limitations simply cannot be stressed enough. While dogs are like people, in the sense that no two dogs have the same personality, it is also true that different breeds exhibit different behaviors and, in fact, are often bred in such a way as to heighten these particular traits. Therefore, it is possible to have a fair idea of how a potential pet will react to different situations on the basis of the breed chosen. A true dog lover will make a special effort to take into consideration all factors to ensure that the breed selected as their pet adapts well to their needs.

Anyone for a Dalmatian?

The first thing to bear in mind is that the type of dog chosen must fit in with your current - or projected - lifestyle. The Dalmatian can serve as a good example. This breed is well known for producing cute little puppies, but what many dog owners don’t realize is that they’re going to need a great deal of exercise and playing even well into their mature years. So, if you choose this breed, you have to be aware that your dog is going to need the attention and love of a master, or mistress, that has the time for it. It’s going to need plenty of physical exercise and mental stimulation to be a truly healthy and happy pet. As you can imagine, this is no easy task.

Considerations

Before you decide on a breed of dog, consider the following questions, as a minimum:

? How much time can I, or my family, spend with the dog or puppy?

? How often will the dog be left alone, and for how long?

? How big is the yard or exercise space?

? Is it fenced?

? Do I want the dog to be inside the house or outside? For how long?

? How much time do I have to walk or exercise the dog?

? Do I want a dog that is playful and friendly with everyone or one that is a good watchdog?

? How often am I prepared to groom and maintain the dog’s coat?

? How much time can I spare to work with the dog for training and obedience?

? Will there be any small children around the dog?

? Are their other pets in the family?

? How much money am I prepared to spend on getting - and maintaining - the dog or puppy?

Once you’ve answered these questions, and any more that may be relevant to your particular situation, you can then start looking at the different dog breeds and their characteristics, in the knowledge that your choice will be based on sound reasoning.

Make sure you get it right

If you’re planning to get a new dog or puppy, the breed chosen definitely does matter, both for you and for your future pet. If you spend the time and effort to ensure a good match, you can be much more confident that both you and your pet will be happy - make sure your dog can fit easily into your lifestyle, so that you can give it, in return, the lifestyle it deserves and needs.

Network Marketing Success - The Compounding Effects of Cooperative Marketing

AÄŸustos 8th, 2008 by honeypotblog

Money is multiplied as the length of your business extends

By: Phil Barnao

Home Business Ventures will produce more financial freedom in the future than any other investment, period!

There are two types of people in the world today. Networkers who get paid and Networkers who do not get paid. Whether you realize it our not, you are a networker.

Does that sound a bit odd?

Let’s take a moment to illustrate. Have you ever read a good book, watched a great movie or visited a terrific restaurant and then turned around and shared this with someone you knew? Of course, we all have. Well, this is networking. Sharing information and stories with others.

Now, when you told someone you knew about that marvelous movie you saw last Saturday night and then they went to see it, did you get paid? Did the movie studio send you a royalty or referral bonus for marketing their movie? Nope!

In this example lies the difference between the two types of people throughout the world. We all network, whether we realize it or not. The only question is whether or not you want to get paid for doing something that you already do.

In actuality…

Everyone does Networking everyday; they just don’t get paid for it.

Now, before we continue, let’s clear up some myths and confusions. Pyramids, ponzi’s and chain letters have absolutely no connection to Cooperative (or also know as) Network Marketing. They are unethical and generally illegal.

Unfortunately some Network Marketing companies in the past have operated with out integrity promoting get rich quick, fast and with little effort. These companies have deterred many folks from looking into this lucrative business model and have camouflaged a wonderful industry.

In a nut shell..

Proper Network Marketing is not only legitimate, lucrative and extremely ethical, but the concept is the underlying foundation of just about every company in the world. That is, getting products, services or information out to the consumer and generating a profit. However, in our Industry, you are the recipient of those profits, instead of the owners and upper management.

So What Is Network Marketing?

Network Marketing is the single greatest industry in the world today! Once you truly understand what it is and what it is not and what it can do for your quality of life, you will certainly agree.

What You Didn’t Learn in School:
Network Marketing is a 65 year old time-proven industry that has produced more millionaires than any other industry. The Business Model is amazingly simple. And the best part? Everyone is qualified to excel in this industry regardless of age, education or experience.

Network Marketing is simply sharing information with others about a product or service you believe in and then teaching them to do exactly the same. That’s it! It is working together with other people to ensure the success of all.

Moreover, this Industry provides a channel of distribution for companies with innovative or distinctive products not readily available in traditional retail stores, or who cannot afford to compete with the enormous advertising and promotion costs associated with gaining space on retail shelves. Network Marketing enhances the retail distribution infrastructure of the economy, and serves consumers with a convenient source of quality products.

Let’s use an example to clarify. Think of any company that comes to mind. Typically, this company will probably have a CEO, president, some vice presidents, middle management and employees. Now, who makes the most money in our example? The CEO, right?

All the employees and middle management work very hard, but the people at the top benefit. The money flows up to the top. This is what most people are used to in any company with any job.

However, Network Marketing is very different. Everyone has an equal opportunity to earn as much as they want. You are not working for someone else because you are your own boss. The playing field is completely level and fair for everyone. It is the Industry that allows your dreams to come true!

Furthermore, here’s a big twist from what you are probably accustomed to. In any company, do the people at the top help the people at the bottom try to reach the top? Typically not! However, in Network Marketing it is to your benefit to help people who are new to reach the top. The financial benefits are tremendous for all concerned. Specifically, you are paid to help others become more successful.

If you want to be financially free, diversify your investments, utilize more leverage, stop working for others (or working your self employed business to death), have more time for family, retire comfortably, travel, leave a legacy or just have a whole lot of fun then this business is worth looking into.

Why else would people who are already successful doctors, lawyers and other professionals…folks that own their own practices and law firms be willing to give it up or use it in addition to network marketing?

The answer is Simple. Because network marketing is one of the smartest, low capital and overhead, leverage utilizing business investments any person can make…and as a result it creates Freedom which is what most people are looking for.

…if you would like to learn more about how to find a good network marketing company you can Click Here Now or visit www.live-freedom.com http://www.live-freedom.com

Choosing A Baseball Bat: Get The Basics Right!

AÄŸustos 8th, 2008 by honeypotblog

Choosing the right bat for baseball is an important piece of equipment which has to be perfectly comfortable for the player to use. Why? Because if is’nt it could hurt the players chances of getting hits! And that’s what it’s all about!

First, the weight of the bat is one of the most important parts about choosing a bat. The bat should not be too heavy as the player should be able to swing the bat with no problem. If it is too light the bat may not be heavy enough to drive the ball. The bat should be heavy enough for the player to drive the ball while being light enough for the player to get around on the ball. Simple concept, but often easier said than done!

Depending on where the players stance is in the batter’s box the player must adjust the length of the bat to how close or far the player stands off the plate. If the player stands far off the plate then a longer bat is needed. Conversely if the player crowds the plate then you should use a shorter bat in order to get around on inside pitches.

In choosing a bat the player needs to gear the equipment to the level they are playing. If playing in a softball league metal bats can be used but if the league is professional the players need to use wooden bats. Aluminum bats have more pop to them so if you are in an amateur league chances are an aluminum bat would be the bat of choice.

Another aspect of choosing a bat a can be how thick the grip is. This is different in every bat so the one that is right for the player is the one they feel the most comfortable with. The player needs to have a firm grip on the bat as to hold onto it while swinging away.

If all this seems complicated, remember that finding the right bat will mean more chance of hitting those home runs… and that’s one of the best feelings there is!
